Thompson Peak Closed EB at Frank Lloyd Wright Due to Serious Truck-Bike Accident

Scottsdale Police Department is reporting that eastbound Thompson Peak Parkway at Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd is closed due to a serious injury collision between a pickup truck and a 12 year old on a bike in a crosswalk.

Police say the 12 year old was not wearing a helmet and was taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

Cactus Road Closed Due To Rollover

Scottsdale Police Department is reporting a single vehicle rollover at 100th Street and Cactus Road. Cactus closed from 96th Street to 104th Street. Police say there were no injuries.

Interstate 40 Reopened Between Kingman and Seligman

ADOT (Arizona Department of Transportation) has reopened Interstate 40 at milepost 71 to milepost 121. All lanes of travel are now open.

I-40 Closed East of Kingman

Eastbound and westbound Interstate 40 [map] is closed east of Kingman from milepost 71 (US 93 interchange) to milepost 121 (Seligman), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). The area received heavy snow overnight. Use Route 66 as detour.

The highway is expect to reopen later this morning.

2012 Parada Del Sol Parade Street Closures

The 59th Annual Parada del Sol parade is this Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The following city streets will be closed from approximately 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. to accommodate parade participants:

• Scottsdale Road will be closed to all traffic from McDowell Rd to Indian School Rd; as well as all cross roads between McDowell and Indian School roads, including major cross roads like McDowell Road, Thomas Road, Oak Street and Osborn Road.
• Indian School Road will be closed to all traffic from Scottsdale Road to 75th Street.
• First Avenue from Brown Avenue to Scottsdale Rd will be closed for the Trails End Celebration until around 5 p.m.

Scottsdale Road and Carefree Highway Restrictions Info

Lane restrictions are in place at Carefree Highway and Scottsdale Road in both directions east of Scottsdale Road and south of Carefree Highway from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday until Feb. 13, 2012 for new cable service installation across Carefree Highway and Scottsdale Road.

• Plan #1 - Eastbound median lane closed, left turns restricted east of Scottsdale Road during the night only.
• Plan #2 - Eastbound curb lane closed east of Scottsdale Road
• Plan #3 - Westbound traffic shifted to the eastbound side of the road, eastbound left turns will be restricted east of Scottsdale Road during nighttime work hours.
• Plan #4 – Southbound curb lane closed, northbound curb lane closed south of Carefree Highway
• Plan #5 – Southbound median lane closed, northbound median lane closed, northbound left turns restricted south of Scottsdale Road.

2012 Phoenix Open Street Closures and Restrictions

Scottsdale residents are encouraged to use the Loop 101 Freeway instead of surface streets near the TPC Scottsdale.

include:

• Bell Road, closed to all traffic from Perimeter Drive to Hayden Road.
• 82nd Street, closed to all traffic between Princess Drive and Bell Road

The following streets are restricted to residents, resort guests and event attendees with the appropriate passes from 6 a.m. Jan. 30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 5:

• Princess Circle southbound (when coming from Scottsdale Road)
• Princess Drive west of Hayden Road
• Hayden Road between Union Hills Drive and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard
• Union Hills Drive east of Hayden Road
• Princess Drive between Hayden Road and Pacesetter Way
• 82nd Street between Union Hills Drive and Princess Drive
• Perimeter Drive between Union Hills Drive and Pacesetter Way

All areas within the Perimeter Center business park are accessible from the Loop 101 Pima Freeway and Princess Drive or Bell Road.

State Route 77 Closed (Globe)

State Route 77 is closed between Globe and Hayden (with the exception of local residents), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). The highway is closed due to a HAZMAT situation.

The estimated time to re-open State Route 77 is 11:00 a.m. MST.

Marathon Temporary Street Closures Today

Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 P. F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon and Half Marathon Street Closures.

Traffic restrictions and road closures planned on several major streets in Scottsdale will be in effect between 6:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Drivers are strongly encouraged to use the freeway system to maneuver around the routes. The major streets affected include:

• Indian School Road closed between 48th Street and Goldwater Boulevard
• Goldwater Boulevard closed between Indian School Road and Main Street
• 1st Avenue closed between Goldwater Boulevard and Marshall Way
• Marshall Way Closed between 1st Avenue and Main Street
• Hayden Road southbound closed between McKellips to McDowell roads
• McDowell Road eastbound closed between Scottsdale and Hayden roads
• Scottsdale Road northbound reduced to one lane between McDowell and Thomas roads
• Thomas Road westbound reduced to one lane between Scottsdale Road and 64th Street
• 64th Street southbound reduced to one lane closed between Thomas and McDowell roads

Via De Ventura Closed West of Pima Road

Eastbound and westbound Via De Ventura is closed west of Pima Road due to a car vs bicycle collision.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.
